How does Michael and Papers Edited process your data?

  • Invoicing details (full name of the client, legal address, business registry number)

Michael manages these details as follows:

  • Stores them on his own personal computer
  • Stores them on his own secure cloud archive using tables and spreadsheets on Airtable*, hereinafter referred to as the “database”.
  • Reviews the entries on the database periodically and deletes the details of clients or persons that are no longer active. “Active” in this context means Papers Edited has had dealings with the client within the last 7 years.
  • In addition, Michael may publish the details of your project on the Papers Edited website at www.papersedited.com as part of indicating to potential new clients Michael’s level of expertise and experience in the field of editorial services. These posts are only made public after the project itself is public on another website (e.g., the university website, a publisher’s website or on Amazon).

Why does Michael and Papers Edited hold this data?

  • To facilitate the provision of a range of professional editing and proofreading services that form the primary basis of his business.
  • To manage and maintain complete records for taxation purposes.
  • To help in responding to complaints or incidents relating to the services he provides, and to facilitate feedback for the sake of improving the services.

Michael does not pass your information in any form to third parties without your consent.

How long does Papers Edited keep your data?

Papers Edited will keep your data for up to 7 years unless you expressly wish us to remove it from the database.

Your rights in relation to the data we hold

You have full rights over your data in our database and by contacting Michael Haagensen at the details above you may request the following at any time:

  • That your data be removed and completely erased from the database
  • That your data be updated or corrected
  • That your data no longer be stored in the cloud but only on a single stand-alone computer or storage device
  • That we send you a copy of all the data we have that relates to you
